🚀 Yes, I Am Now Starting to Blog!

Yes, I am now starting to blog! 🎉
For a long time, I’ve been deeply involved in web development, freelancing, and building projects. I’ve spent countless hours learning about React, Next.js, Node.js, APIs, databases, performance optimization, and more. While working on real-world projects and client requirements, I often found myself going down rabbit holes of new tools, best practices, and cutting-edge technologies.
However, I noticed a major problem—I was consuming a ton of content but retaining very little. I would watch tutorials, read documentation, and experiment with different technologies, but after a few weeks, I’d forget a lot of what I had learned. I was stuck in a loop of learning and forgetting, which made me feel like I wasn’t making as much progress as I should.
That’s when I came across a book that changed my perspective on learning: "Building a Second Brain" by Tiago Forte.
This book completely transformed my approach to learning, productivity, and knowledge management. It introduced me to a system where capturing, organizing, and using knowledge effectively is the key to long-term growth. Inspired by this book, I decided to start this blog—a place where I document my learning, share insights, and create a long-term knowledge base for myself and others.
👨💻 Who Am I?
I’m Nitin Ahirwal, a passionate full-stack web developer and freelancer with over 5 years of experience in building modern web applications. I specialize in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) and have completed 70+ projects through freelancing.
I run DesignPreet, a web development agency where we provide high-quality websites, web apps, digital marketing, and SEO services while ensuring affordability for clients.
Besides coding, I love learning, sharing knowledge, and experimenting with new technologies. I believe that teaching and writing are the best ways to reinforce learning, which is why I’m starting this blog. My goal is to help beginners, intermediate developers, and even experienced professionals by sharing my experiences, challenges, and lessons from the field.
💡 How "Building a Second Brain" Inspired Me to Start This Blog
Before reading this book, I thought that learning was all about absorbing as much information as possible. But Tiago Forte introduced me to a completely new mindset:
“Your brain is for having ideas, not for holding them.”
This one quote completely changed the way I approached learning. I realized that I had been doing it all wrong. Instead of hoarding knowledge in my mind, I needed to build an external system that could store and organize it for me—this is what Tiago Forte calls a Second Brain.
📖 Key Takeaways from the Book
1️⃣ Knowledge is Useless Unless It’s Stored and Used
Earlier, I used to take random notes, but they were scattered and unstructured. The book introduced me to the PARA method (Projects, Areas, Resources, and Archives), which helped me organize knowledge efficiently so that I could revisit and apply it whenever needed.
Instead of just collecting notes, I now focus on actionable knowledge—things that I can immediately use in my work.
2️⃣ Writing is the Best Way to Learn and Teach
One of the most powerful lessons from the book is:
"If you want to truly understand something, teach it."
I always thought that I had to master a topic before teaching it, but this book made me realize that the best way to learn is by teaching others. Writing about what I learn forces me to structure my thoughts, break down complex concepts, and develop a deeper understanding.
3️⃣ Your Brain is Not a Storage Device
Earlier, I used to feel overwhelmed by the amount of information I had to remember—framework updates, best practices, debugging techniques, and so much more. The book helped me understand that I don’t have to store everything in my mind. Instead, I should offload knowledge into a system where I can retrieve it anytime.
This blog will act as my Second Brain, helping me document and structure everything I learn while making it available for others who might find it useful.
🚀 Turning Inspiration into Action – This Blog!
Reading the book was just the beginning—taking action is what truly matters.
This blog is my way of putting knowledge into practice. It will serve as:
✅ A digital garden where I document everything I learn.
✅ A public knowledge base for web developers and learners.
✅ A place to experiment, reflect, and share insights.
✅ A timeline of my growth as a developer, capturing everything from my struggles to my breakthroughs.
